Happy Thursday everyone!
As you know, at Wilshire we strive to ensure all students feel respected and included. Wilshire is a home away from home and we want every student to feel like they matter and they belong.
Over the next three weeks, we will be recognizing:
- World Down Syndrome Day- March 21 (https://cdss.ca/community/events-activities/down-syndrome-awareness-week/)
- Epilepsy Awareness Day- March 26 (https://www.purpleday.org/)
- Autism Awareness Day- April 2 (https://www.autismspeaks.ca/)
On Monday, March 22, in honour of World Down Syndrome Day, we are encouraging all students and staff to wear colourful, fun socks.
On Friday, March 26, we encourage everyone to wear purple.
On Thursday, April 1, we encourage everyone to light it up blue by wearing blue.
Staff have been provided with resources to engage in learning opportunities with students in recognition of these days. Let’s make a difference together.
