Dear Families,
This is a further update on the temporary closure of Wilshire ES. Due to ongoing requirements for self-isolation for some of their staff and resulting challenges with school operations, the closure of Wilshire ES is being extended to April 19. The closure is due to requirements for self-isolation for some of our administration staff, teachers and educational assistants and resulting challenges with school operations.
Wilshire ES will be closed to students from March 29, 2021 through to April 19, 2021. On the advice of York Region Public Health students can return on April 19, 2021, for regular school operations. Unless otherwise stated, other YRDSB schools remain open at this time.
If you have not received direct and specific communication from Public Health, there is no additional action for you to take. Families and students of classes who have not previously been excluded, do not need to start to self isolate at this time. The health and safety of our students, staff and families is our priority.
During this time, learning will continue virtually for all classes.
We recognize that this information may be concerning for families. Please know that this decision was not taken lightly, and was made to ensure continuation of student learning and to support student safety and well-being.
