Use Micromobility Devices Safely & Responsibly

Do you own amicromobility device, such as an e-scooter, scooter style e-bike, golf cart, Segway, electric skateboard or hoverboard? To keep everyone safe, the City of Vaughan would like to remind you that micromobility devices that are motorized should not be used in playgrounds, on sidewalks, cycle tracks, shared pedestrian and bike paths or recreational trails in the city. Exemptions apply to those who require motorized wheelchairs and medical micromobility devices to get around. People operating medical devices are treated in the same way as pedestrians on-foot and are permitted on sidewalks, paths and trails. If you see unsafe micromobility device usage in your community, you may notify the City by contacting Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or accessvaughan@vaughan.ca with the date, location and nature of the incident. The City is tracking these cases to inform future measures. Concerns of micromobility device usage on public roadways can also be reported to York Regional Police through the non-emergency phone line at 1-866-876-5423 or the online reporting form.
